Jost Nickel, drummer with Jan Delay & Disko No. 1 since 2006, studied at Drummers Collective in NYC. He is bandleader and co-producer in Barry Finnerty's band BBFC and has worked with Seeed and Randy Brecker, among others.

Jost is a lecturer at the Popakademie and has made a name for himself worldwide through his performances at the Montreal Drum Fest (Canada), the PASIC (USA), the NAMM Show (USA), the Meinl Drum Festival, the London Drum Show and the Tam Tam Festival in Spain.

His work as an author includes guest contributions in Modern Drummer (USA), Rhythm & Drums (Japan), Batterie (France), Perkusista (Poland) and Drums and Percussion (D) as well as the textbook JOST NICKELS GROOVE BOOK, published in 2014.
