19. March 2019
The third Electronic Music Day will take place at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg on Saturday, 6 April 2019. The public event is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Time Warp, which will take place in the Maimarkthalle in the evening.
Before the big anniversary edition of Time Warp starts in the evening, there will be discussions during the day with Mannheim's mayor Dr. Peter Kurz, Time Warp founder Robin Ebinger from Cosmopop and Prof. Udo Dahmen, the artistic director of the Popakademie. In a public interview, Sebastian "Seebase" Dresel talks to techno DJ Chris Liebing about the development of electronic music in Germany. The DJ and producer duo Pan-Pot will be available to answer questions from Popakademie graduate Angie Taylor afterwards. Chris Liebing, Seebase and Pan-Pot will then all be in action at Time Warp in the evening. "Pop music is currently receiving the most innovative impulses from electronic music. That's why one of the focal points of the Popakademie's artistic training is in precisely this segment. In keeping with the anniversary of Time Warp, we want to show the public the background and provide insights into production methods," says Prof. Udo Dahmen, artistic director and managing director of the Popakademie.Visitors will be able to get hands-on experience at free production workshops by the hardware and software manufacturer Arturia and the music software company Ableton. Arno Müller, head of the study focus Electronic Music Producer, presents modular sound systems together with Popakademie student Julian Maier-Hauff. The Electronic Music Day will be opened musically by GEWAND. ELECTRONIC MUSIC DAY6 April 2019, start: 12:00
