Students develop digital anniversary concept for Four Music

14. December 2021

In the summer of 2021, four music business students developed a digital marketing concept as part of the project workshop to mark the 25th anniversary of the Four Music label.

What was founded in 1996 by the Fantastischen Vier as a label by artists for artists is still convincing 25 years later with a lot of passion and a feeling for good music. Four Music is a record label with long-term newcomer development and cross-genre signings. It unites the most diverse artists:inside with pop cultural relevance. "Supporting artists since 1996" is therefore the program: from Apache 207 to JORIS to Ace Tee, from MAJAN to Sero to Mark Forster, Kelvin Jones, Jennifer Rostock or Marteria. The list of acts is long and above all successful.

In order to be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company in all its facets, Four Music has brought in support in the form of current Pop Academy students. Laura Becker, Gacyn Chung and Joscha Vomstein spent a semester developing digital concepts for Four Music's online and social media channels. In close collaboration with the label, they created Four Music - The Chartshow, for example. A review of the most successful hits and acts of the past 25 years, including earworm guarantors by Dendemann, Clueso, Nneka or Hurts.

"25 years is of course a long time, and we would have liked to celebrate the anniversary together with fans, friends and especially artists from the past, present and future. So it was even nicer that the collaboration with the Popakademie's project workshop gave us the opportunity to exchange ideas and try things out, at least online, to celebrate a quarter of a century of Four Music," says Daniel Malat, Vice President Four Music.

"We are pleased that our project workshop was able to collaborate on Four Music's anniversary, allowing students to develop the social media campaign with and for Four Music," said Alex Wolf, director of the Institute for Music and Creative Business Practice and Corporate Communications.

The Pop Academy's project workshop is a practice-oriented component within the degree program. Future managers and start-ups in the industry have to realize real projects for clients from the music and creative industries, meet certain targets, and implement them with the support of a project manager.
