Popakademie collaborates with Nbg Pop for the first time

After Ein Rosenkavalier politely declined the invitation to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest with the words, “We must remain losers,” he will now devote himself to the proletariat and its entertainment through indie-schlager. His evergreens range from Schlager anthems—which even hipster darlings can’t resist dancing the Discofox to—to ’80s electro hits that invite you to nod your head in approval.

FREUDE from Vienna emerges with a creative vision that blends the indie and alternative sounds of the ’90s and 2000s with fresh pop elements. The band is a bold new creation that holds its own between genres and forges its own musical identity. Lyrically, they address current events, political issues, and personal experiences in equal measure to create a multi-layered emotional journey for listeners.

In emi x’ world, internet culture and dreamscapes blur into a total work of art blending electro and hyperpop. emi x balances self-irony and sincerity, ballads and party hits, capturing the spirit of a generation caught up in the digital frenzy of the 2020s. The band finds its way to portray the many facets of a chaotic emotional landscape through experimentation with sounds, genres, and song structures.

During the conference portion of Nbg POP on Saturday, October 10, Prof. Dr. Alexander Endreß (Program Director, Music Business B.A.) and David Stammer (Project Manager, Digital Innovation) will present the initial findings of an ongoing research project on the use of generative artificial intelligence in the music industry. The focus will be on both technical and creative aspects of AI use, current copyright and ethical issues, as well as the perception and acceptance of AI by users and artists.
