Popakademie alumna Alice Merton at the 2026 Nibelungen Festival

18. May 2026

As part of this year’s Nibelungen Festival in Worms, Popakademie alumna Alice Merton (B.A. in Pop Music Design) will be responsible for the musical arrangement of the festival production “The Queen of the Huns.” Together with British singer, musician, and composer Alexander Wolfe of Les Enfants Terribles, Alice Merton will also perform live as a singer and musician on stage in front of Worms Cathedral during the performances.

Alice Merton made a name for herself internationally with “No Roots” and has since enjoyed an extraordinary career marked by appearances at festivals around the world, several studio albums, and a consistently independent artistic approach. Her new studio album, “Visions,” was released in early 2026.

With this project at the Nibelungen Festival, she is now also turning her attention to theater music. As she herself says, this is an exciting artistic challenge that immediately appealed to Alice.
