Protagonists of "Senioren Zocken" on the Red Carpet

Golden Camera for Master graduate

05. October 2018

On 27 September, the YouTube Golden Camera Digital Awards were presented in Berlin. In the category "Let's Play & Gaming" the YouTube channel "Senioren Zocken" was awarded. The media producers Joschka Lippelt and Sebastjan Marko came up with the idea and implemented the channel. Dominik Thumfart, a graduate of the Music and Creative Industries Master's programme, has been providing strategic support for the project from the very beginning.

In "Senioren zocken", older people who are not actually gamers can be filmed while playing video games and have already gained 370,000 subscribers. In terms of content, a bridge is built between young and old, between tech-savvy and silver surfers, and always with the necessary humour and wink.

Like the Golden Camera Awards, the YouTube Goldene Kamera Digital Awards are presented by the Funke Media Group, this year in cooperation with YouTube. There are eight categories in total.

"The Golden Camera is of course a great confirmation and came as a surprise. But we already have a lot in planning to top the trip," said Dominik Thumfart after the awards ceremony.

He is currently building up a boutique agency for content strategies and operations. Immediately after graduation, together with Felicitas Cardenas Carbajal, who also studied Music and Creative Industries at the Popakademie, and Julian Buning, he set up the agency Wunderkidz, which specialises in influencer marketing for the music industry. In addition, Dominik Thumfart was for several years a freelancer and played a major role in building up the channel management for Universal Music.
