Bandpool Act wins BBC Award

Becky Sikasa was part of the 23rd generation of the Bandpool, the top support programme of the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg. The Bandpool offers aspiring musicians from all over Germany an 18-month coaching programme with ten intensive workshop weekends in Mannheim. The aim is to optimally prepare the artists for their entry into the professional music business.

Born in Scotland, she has close ties to the British music scene. During her studies at Napier University in Edinburgh, she gained valuable experience that shaped her musical development. Now she has received the ‘Scottish Act of the Year’ award, one of the most important honours for Scottish artists.

The award comes with exclusive opportunities: Becky Sikasa will receive two professional recording sessions with BBC Radio Scotland, an appearance at the TRNSMT Festival, one of Scotland's biggest music festivals, as well as a customised PR campaign to further promote her career.
