Philipp Schlotter

Philipp Schlotter is a Swiss-based musician working in the fields of improvisation, sound research, electronic and acoustic music. He draws his influences from various genres and always tries to use his music as a language. He works in interdisciplinary projects, with both visual and performance artists, and explores the prepared piano, synthesizers, and sounds beyond the norm. After growing up with the piano, he studied jazz piano at the University of the Arts in Bern and Zurich. As a bandleader, musician and composer, he plays and participates in the following groups, among others: Me&Mobi, Namaka, Street Is Only Noise, Bunsenburner, Unruhe, Auk Nova, Liane Lang & Philipp Schlotter. He co-created the sound installation Street Is Only Noise and composed the music for the short film Little Miss Fate.

Since 2018, Philipp Schlotter has been a guest lecturer for major and minor keyboard students.
