Oliver Poschmann

Bass

At the age of 21 Oliver started to play extensive European tours with numerous musicals: Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Oklahoma, Tommy, Evita, Hair, Best of Broadway, Elvis, and many more. He has toured with various bands as support act for Robert Palmer, the Bee Gees and Leningrad Cowboys. Also in the studio scene his popularity grew at this time. In the 90s he turned to projects from the new age and techno scene and toured for a long time with the act Earth Nation, often as an opening act for star DJ Sven Väth at mega raves. He was also engaged for Ethnopop projects, which brought him into contact with music from Argentina, China, Japan, India and Turkey. In the mid-90s he played in the band around Moses Pelham's hip-hop megaseller "Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt".

At the beginning of the millennium, engagements with the band Sweetbox followed, which regularly took him to Japan and Korea. At the same time he played in the band Errorhead around guitar hero Markus Deml and with Phil Collins' son Simon Collins. Thomas D., Paul Young, Laith al Deen, Bobby Kimball, Johnny Logan, Haddaway, Orange Blue, Go West, Limahl, Tony Hadley and many other collaborations followed.

Oliver lives and works in London since 2011, mainly working in the West End "holding the bass chair" in shows like "Rock of Ages" or "Motown - the Musical".

His handbook for electric bass, published in 1991, is still considered a standard work today.
