Kai Eckhardt

Kai Eckhardt is a Liberian-German bassist and composer, best known for his membership of the John McLaughlin Trio in the 1980s, Billy Cobham's International Quartet in the 1990s and the band Garaj Mahai. In addition to his work as an active musician, he is also a lecturer at various music institutes and conservatories worldwide with his clinics and master classes. He is a faculty member of the Jazz School Institute in Berkeley, CA. Since 2013 he teaches in the Bass Department of the Popakademie.
