Bağlama Symposium in Mannheim with Erdal Erzincan

On December 18, the Popakademie invites all Bağlama enthusiasts to a symposium in Mannheim. With Erdal Erzincan, one of the most famous masters of this instrument could be won as a guest musician. Together with the lecturers of the Popakademie Kemal Dinҫ, Taner Akyol, Erdem Şimşek and Kenan Tülek he will give workshops and in the evening a concert - also with graduates and students of the study program World Music.

The Bağlama is the most important stringed instrument in Turkish music. In Baden-Württemberg, especially in Mannheim, this instrument has had a high status for years. Since 2015, there has been a B.A. program in world music at the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg with the Bağlama as the main subject. The Bağlama has been one of the competition instruments in "Jugend musiziert" in Baden-Württemberg since 2012.

Co-organizers of the Bağlama Symposium are the Landesmusikrat Baden-Württemberg, the Mannheim Music School and the Oriental Music Academy Mannheim.
