Popakademie mourns the loss of Dr. Volker Wedekind
We are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Dr. Volker Wedekind. The former head of the Department for Art and Music Colleges had close ties to the Popakademie for many years. Volker Wedekind showed great commitment to us, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, which was a difficult time for the young musicians at the Popakademie. He also supported a music camp in Namibia as part of the Namibia Initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg, which the Popakademie implemented with partners in 2022. We have lost a dedicated partner who was always a reliable, constructive contact and advocate.
