Popmusikdesign student receives luftsprung live scholarship

26. November 2019

On Sunday, November 24, the Popmusikdesign student and singer/songwriter Julia received the first luftsprung live scholarship. The luftsprung foundation's support programme supports young, chronically ill musical talents in order to promote their equal opportunities. "Julia is an extremely talented and committed singer and songwriter who has outstanding potential for an exciting career in music," said Prof. Udo Dahmen, who was delighted with the support of 500 euros per month that Julia will receive for one year with immediate effect.

The scholarship was handed over at the aktion luftsprung foundation ceremony in Frankfurt am Main by Prof. Udo Dahmen, artistic director & managing director of the Popakademie, and Volker Potthoff, founder and chairman of aktion luftsprung. A jury consisting of Volker Potthoff (CEO and founder of aktion luftsprung), Ulrich Hartmann (project management luftsprung live), Udo Dahmen and Danijela Albrecht (speaker on popular music education at the Popakademie) selected the singer/songwriter from a large number of applicants.

The cooperation between the Popakademie and the foundation aktion luftsprung also exists behind the scenes of the support program. In the winter semester 2017/2018, a project group worked on luftsprung live as part of the project workshop. The three music business students Charis, Christian and Felix, together with their project manager Ulrich Hartmann, who is a graduate of the Master of Arts program in Popular Music, developed the brand luftsprung live and designed the scholarship as well as a suitable marketing strategy.
