Popakademics win pop culture awards

07. October 2021

The jury of the Pop Culture Award selected new winners in Berlin, including several former students of the Pop Academy.

In two categories, favorite solo artist and favorite video, the pop academic [LK_Nhttps://minemusik.de/]Mine[/LK_N] was awarded. Mine, whose real name is Jasmin Stocker, studied for a Master's degree in Popular Music at the Popakademie and is now enjoying great success once again with her new album "Hinüber". Part of her band is also Popakademie graduate Linda-Philomène (Philo) Tsoungui, who also studied Popular Music with a focus on "Performing Artist".

Popakademie graduate Markus Ganter received the award for the "Favorite Producer" category. He studied Bachelor Pop Music Design in Mannheim and is now the producer of AnnenMayKantereit, among others. Three pop academics were nominated in this category with Mine and Novaa (also a former Popakademie student).

The initiative "Music Declares Emergency Germany", co-founded by music business alumni Fine Stammnitz, was nominated in the "Lived Pop Culture" category. This fights loudly and resolutely against climate change and for a change in the music industry and society.

This is the fifth time that the association "Förderung der Popkultur e.V." has awarded the prize for pop culture. What makes it special is that it is awarded independently of the commercial success of the artists. The jury evaluates the talent of the participants and wants to guarantee complete fairness and comprehensibility of the competition.
